The New Flesh

I don't truly believe that my TYPEWRITERS are laughing at me. It was just an unchecked burst of eloquence, and I apologize. I also apologize for not calling you back tonight. I hooked up with my actor friend Karl and we went out and got drunk with two lovely lady friends from high school who also showed up at the play. The show was quite good - I recommend all readers here go see it tonight at 10:30pm. It's at 125 Bathurst St., and is called World War One: What The Hell Just Happened?

Vex you, do I Julie? Hardly my intention. I am here now, moved back into my apartment, just in time to leave for the weekend for a family reunion. The move in was uneventful, and my typewriters appear to be happy in their new home, free from their pressboard cages. Although they've yet to feel the subtle caress of my agile fingers in this new environment, they giggle with an almost demonic glee every time I walk past. I've still a little shopping to do before I'm fully ready to begin my life here anew, but that will take place today, once the laundry is done.

The one thing I still can't figure out about my sentence is WHY the complainant wants to keep me from contacting several people for the next year and a half. It obviously isn't to "protect" those close to her, as I am, for example, free to contact her family if I wish (not that I would.) It isn't, to my knowledge, because the people named in the order don't want contact with me - I'm pretty sure at least one of them would be interested in communicating with me again now. I'm forced to draw the conclusion that the complainant is attempting to destroy my relationship with the named parties as well as whatever relationship she had with me, and that hurts, because at least one of the named parties is a good friend of mine and has been my friend for longer than I've even known the complainant. Damn and blast.

One good thing about having gone to jail: I'm now a much better chess player.
